The Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Aveanna Hospice (formerly Comfort Care Hospice) Tuesday, April 4, in conjunction with Aveanna’s open house.

Among those in attendance were Aveanna Hospice Executive Director Kim Ray, cutting the ribbon; the Aveanna Hospice staff; AACC Executive Director Laura Wells, left of ribbon; AACC Director of Membership Services Maggie Holmes, right of ribbon; Chamber President Mellisa King; Chamber Immediate Past President William Alverson; members of the Chamber board; and Dist. 4 Commissioner Tommy McGaha.

Aveanna Hospice was first introduced to the local community as Comfort Care Hospice in 2003.

The name change was part of a year-long process in which the facility saw minor cosmetic upgrades on its interior and exterior.

Aveanna Hospice is located at 820 South Three Notch Street, Suite C in Andalusia. Office hours are weekdays from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. with a nurse available on call 24 hours a day.
