Southeast AlabamaWorks recently partnered with PowerSouth Energy Cooperatives to hold the third annual Regional Resume Contest. Contestants competed in a countywide resume contest where one winner was selected to receive $250 and advance to the regional competition.

At the regional finale, the 10 county representatives competed in a panel interview competition to select a scholarship winner.

This year, the winner is Charlie McVay of Crenshaw County. McVay received $250 for winning the local competition and an additional $1,000 for winning the regional finale.

The scholarship is made possible through contributions by PowerSouth Energy Cooperatives — Covington Electric Co-op, Pea River Electric Co-op, South Alabama Electric Co-op, and Wiregrass Electric Co-op.

County Winners included: Jamie Halstead, Barbour County; Vivian Gates, Butler County; Ella Hogan, Coffee County; Jacob Jernigan, Covington County; Charlie McVay, Crenshaw County; Austin Horne, Dale County; Shelba Grace Hagler, Geneva County; Mollie Hix, Henry County; Seth Monk, Houston County; and Aicey Hawkins, Pike County.
