An Andalusia man is facing drug charges after officers attempting to serve a warrant detected drug use in his home.

Arthur Daniel Ziglar

Andalusia Police Chief Paul Hudson said officers were attempting to serve the warrant in the building commonly known as The Boarding House on South Cotton Street. When they knocked on the door of the apartment occupied by the manager, Arthur Daniel Ziglar, 56, they detected the odor of marijuana and asked for consent to search. Ziglar refused, and officers obtained a search warrant.

Hudson said when they executed the search warrant, officers found “a large amount of marijuana,” an assortment of THC vape pens, and other paraphernalia. Ziglar was subsequently charged with first-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia with a total bond amount of $13,000.

The original warrant being served at the South Cotton Street residence was not for Ziglar.
