The Opp Police Department has arrested a suspect believed to be involved in a shooting incident in November.

William Antonio Edwards Jr.

William Antonio Edwards Jr., 27, of Opp was arrested Sunday, Dec. 10, and charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.

On Nov. 12, at approximately 2:50 a.m., Opp police responded to calls of shots fired on Hardin Street, reporting that a vehicle had been struck by a bullet. The OPD’s investigation into the incident led to the arrest warrant for Edwards who was identified in connection with the incident.

“The Opp Police Department is committed to addressing this issue head-on and is actively pursuing leads and conducting a thorough investigation to identify and locate other individuals involved,” officials said.
