Public invited to bring arrowheads to learn more about them
The Cotton Street Gallery in Andalusia will host flintknapper Bobby Davis on Saturday, September 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Members of the public are invited to bring their arrowheads to the gallery to learn whether they are authentic, what style they are, what era they come from, and what material they’re made from.
The arrowhead information day is part of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians Regalia and Traditional Art Reproduction Exhibition, which runs through the end of November. Items on display include powwow regalia, princess regalia, basketry, quilts, reproduction pottery, and copper medallions, as well as arrowheads on loan from the Three Notch Museum.
The exhibition is open to the public Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through November. Donations are welcome and will go to support AIR Artists, Inc.
The Cotton Street Gallery, located at 104 North Cotton Street in Andalusia, celebrates Southern textile art and artists and offers textile-related classes and demonstrations for adults and children throughout the year.
