Straughn’s Claire Howe named to All-State Volleyball Team

Straughn High School senior Claire Howe was recently named to the 2024 AL.com High School Volleyball All-State Team as Class 4A Honorable Mention for Athlete.
Howe, who played at the positions of setter and outside hitter, was the only Covington County player named to the list.
She finished her senior season with 97 kills, 83 aces, 28 blocks (9 solo, 19 assisted), 131 digs, and 428 assists.
The Lady Tigers went 28-11 under head coach Deidra Burleson and made their third appearance at the Elite Eight State Tournament in Birmingham.
