Andalusia woman killed in single-vehicle crash

A single-vehicle crash that occurred on Saturday, Jan. 18, at approximately 4:20 p.m. has claimed the life of an Andalusia woman.
Amanda E. Edson, 30, was critically injured when the 2002 Ford F-150 she was driving left the roadway and overturned. She was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola for treatment. Edson succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased on Saturday, Feb. 1.
The crash occurred on Plywood Mill Road near Grider Mock Road, approximately one mile south of River Falls, in Covington County.
Edson was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
