Straughn fishing team makes first stop of 2025

On Saturday, Feb. 8, the Straughn Junior High Bass Fishing Team made their first stop of the 2025 tournament season with the Alabama Bass Nation trail at Lincoln Landing on Lake Logan Martin.

Logan Martin Reservoir is located in east-central Alabama on the Coosa River, approximately 30 miles east of Birmingham (the lake borders St. Clair and Talladega counties). The reservoir extends 48.5 miles from the dam upstream to Neely Henry dam and contains 15,263 acres.

All three teams fished on Lake Logan Martin two teams weighed in fish. There was a total of 72 boats participating in the Junior division.

The team of Gavin Odom/Walker Faust finished 47th with one fish weighing in 1.41 pounds.

The team of Emma Copeland finished 52nd with one fish weighing in .62 pounds.

The Straughn Bass Team Junior Division will be fishing a different trail than the high school division this spring season. Therefore, the next stop for the junior division will be March 15, 2025 on Lake Martin in Alexander City, Alabama.
