PowerSouth announces two additional organization changes

PowerSouth Energy Cooperative announced the following organizational changes and promotions, effective Feb. 17.

Wanda Woods has been named Manager of Communications, where she and her team will support PowerSouth’s members’ strategic communication efforts by providing a variety of advertising, design, photography, printing, public relations and video services. Woods has worked with PowerSouth for 35 years. She is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and was voted Andalusia’s Secretary of the Year in 1999 and Office Professional of the Year in 2010 and 2019.

Her community involvement includes the Andalusia Office Professionals, Business and Professional Women’s Club (BPW) and Lurleen B. Wallace Community College’s (LBWCC) Diversity Committee.

Baynard Ward has been named Member & Community Affairs Representative where he will promote member relations and community development to advance the missions and goals of PowerSouth throughout the communities that PowerSouth’s members serve. He has worked with PowerSouth for 8 years. Prior to his service to PowerSouth, he worked for Suwannee Valley Electric Cooperative, in Florida, as Manager of Community Relations.

He is active in the community, including with the Andalusia Rotary Club and the G&T Communicators Association, a national organization focused on planning for, understanding and advancing communications goals related to the generation and transmission of power.

Both Woods and Ward will report to Courtney Bowers, PowerSouth’s Vice President of Member Services and Communications.
