Angel of Hope for Covington County announces the opening of applications for the 2025 Angel of Hope for Covington County Scholarship.
Dedicated to fostering hope and healing, Angel of Hope for Covington County was established in 2022 to create a Memorial Garden in Andalusia, providing a place of reflection for grieving parents and those affected by the loss of a child of any age.
In its commitment to supporting local students who have experienced personal loss or adversity, Angel of Hope for Covington County will award a $1,500 scholarship to one graduating senior from each of the six high schools in Covington County: Andalusia, Opp, Florala, Pleasant Home, Red Level, and Straughn. The selection committee will evaluate applicants based on their personal essay, academic performance, extracurricular activities, work experience, and community service.
The scholarship application and requirements may be accessed at https://forms.gle/brhusAsNpzMjQoDG6. Applicants must complete the form and submit the required documents.
To be considered, applicants must submit the following documents via email to angelofhopescholarship@gmail.com with the subject line formatted as YourLastName_AOHCC:
- A resume

- A personal essay on the theme: Finding Healing and Hope in the Midst of Adversity
The essay should narrate the applicant’s experience with adversity, how they overcame the challenge, and how this resilience will shape their future. Essays must be written by the applicant.
The submission deadline is Friday, April 18, 2025, at 3 p.m. Incomplete applications will not be considered. If no completed applications are received from a school by the deadline, no scholarship will be awarded to that school.
Scholarship recipients will be honored during their respective school’s awards day ceremony. In addition, winners and their parents will be invited to a special reception.
Applicants must be graduating seniors from Andalusia High School, Opp High School, Florala High School, Pleasant Home School, Red Level School, or Straughn High School.
Scholarship funds will be sent directly to the recipient’s chosen community college, college, or university.
