Covington County NAACP to install officers March 10

The Covington County Branch of the National Association of Colored People (NAACP) invites the public to its Officer Installation Service and Quarterly Meeting on Monday, March 10, at 6 p.m., in the Will Coleman Richard Robertson Center, 901 CC Baker Ave. in Andalusia.

The new President, Rev. Jimmie Samuel, will share his vision for the Covington County Branch and Bernard Simelton, President of the Alabama State Conference of the NAACP, will perform the installation ceremonies.

The Covington County Branch of the NAACP was reorganized and recognized by the national organization in May 2021.

Current officers of the local chapter include:

Rev. Jimmie Samuel, president; Hazel Bryant, first vice president; Mack Hines, second vice president; Cindy Bass, secretary; Victoria P. Anderson, asst. secretary; Jimmy B. Jackson, treasurer; and Lorena Bryant, asst. treasurer.

“We look forward to seeing you at the installation services and to working with you toward a just and equable society,” organization leaders stated in the announcement.
