The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs scored early and often, but one run would have been enough as Kailey Jackson dominated in the circle, recording a perfect game against Highland Home.

Jackson got things going with a fast start, striking out the side in the top of the first.

In the bottom of the inning, the Lady Bulldogs took advantage of 13 walks, a hit batter, singles by Austin Seal and Madi Everett, and a double by Jackson to jump out to a 16-0 lead.

Jackson recorded two more strike outs in the second with another out courtesy of a groundball to first base.

While Jackson was dominant on the mound, she continued to shine at the plate, leading off the bottom of the second with her second double of the game. Jessa Ann Dubose followed with an RBI single. Everett singled putting runners on first and second. Dubose scored on an error to give the Lady Bulldogs an 18-0 lead.

Another single off the bat of Lacey Wells loaded the bases. A single by Seal brought in Everett, making the score 19-0.

With the bases loaded, Blakelyn Bass and Taya Newton each got hit by pitches, completing the scoring with Andalusia up 21-0.

Jackson completed the game with two more strikeouts in the top of the third as the game was called on the 10-run rule.

In the three innings pitched, Jackson recorded seven strikeouts and did not allow a base runner.

Jackson was also an offensive leader, hitting two doubles for two RBI and scored once. Seal went three-for-three at the plate with four RBI and scored twice. Everett went two-for-three with three RBI and scored three runs. McKenzie Barrow, Stella Wells, and Newton each had stolen bases.

The win improves the Lady Bulldogs’ record to 7-4 on the season. They will travel to take on the Opp Lady Bobcats on Tuesday, March 18, at 6 p.m.
