Ali of AU’s Biggio Center to speak at LBW commencement

LBW Community College has announced that Dr. Asim Ali, executive director of the Biggio Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning at Auburn University, will serve as the keynote speaker for the 2025 commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 9, at the Kiwanis Community Center.
Commencement exercises will begin with academic transfer at 10 a.m., followed by career technical graduates at 2 p.m.
Ali is a national leader in educational innovation, artificial intelligence strategy and expanding access to higher education. An Alabama native and three-time Auburn University graduate, he has played a pivotal role in advancing educational opportunities for students across the state and the nation. As the founding director of Auburn Online, he spearheaded the development of the university’s first fully online degree completion programs, providing new pathways for working adults and non-traditional students.
Ali also serves as president-elect of UPCEA, the foremost national association for professional and continuing education, and currently co-leads Auburn’s strategic initiatives around artificial intelligence in education. His work has impacted thousands of faculty and students, including instructors across the Alabama Community College System, through AI training and resources.

Dr. Ali’s work continues to open doors for students across Alabama, and I know his message will inspire our graduates as they prepare for their next chapter.”
