Gavin Gerard O’Reilly, 54, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 2, 2025.

He was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Jan. 13, 1971, to James and Una O’Reilly. He immigrated to the United States of America in 2002 and earned his citizenship in 2007. He married Melissa Meredith and resided in Andalusia. He was an educator at Red Level High School for 19 years.

Gavin possessed an affinity for history, literature, and carpentry, and enjoyed being with his family, whom he is survived by: his wife, Melissa O’Reilly; his three children, Maia, James, and Caolan O’Reilly; his mother, Una O’Reilly; and his four sisters, Cathy, Bronagh, Grainne, and Orla O’Reilly. He was preceded in death by his father, James O’Reilly.
