The Covington County Engineer’s Office has announced that a portion of Opine Road (County Road 42) will be temporarily closed on Thursday, May 8, for scheduled bridge maintenance.

The closure will affect the section of Opine Road between County Road 85 and Pittman Road, located in the Opp area. Work will begin at 9a.m. and is expected to be completed by 5 p.m.

All necessary signage and barricades will be in place and posted in accordance with traffic safety regulations.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, seek alternate routes, and use caution in the area. “We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation as we work to maintain safe and reliable infrastructure in Covington County,” county officials said.
