Suspect arrested in Opp robbery; second suspect remains at large

A juvenile was arrested by the Opp Police Department for his alleged involvement in a robbery at a Tom Thumb store during the early hours of May 7.
Investigators said they interviewed a suspect and based on that and other evidence, arrested a 16-year-old who they said would be charged as an adult for first degree robbery. The identity of the teenager is being withheld at this time.
Police still seek a second suspect involved in the robbery. Anyone with information should call the Opp Police Department at 334-493-4511. To provide an anonymous tip, call Central Alabama Crime Stoppers or submit through the City of Opp phone app.
The Opp Police Department expressed its thanks to the Covington County Sheriff’s Office deputies and the reserves K9 tracking team for assistance following the robbery.
