Escaped inmate from Elba corrections facility was serving time for Covington County felony

The Alabama Department of Corrections is searching for escaped inmate Emmett Isaih Sigers, who is serving a 10-year sentence for a Class B felony in Covington County.
ADOC reports that at about 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, while conducting an institutional count, Sigers was missing from his assigned bed at the Elba Community-Based Facility/Community Work Center located at 1620 Boswell St. in Elba. Sigers is described as having a tattoo over his left eyebrow that reads “loyalty” and was last seen wearing state-issued khaki brown clothing. He is further described as a black male, 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighing 155 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
