The Old Three Notch Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is decorating the town red, white, and blue with its latest initiative, the “Star-Spangled Surprise.”
Bringing a wave of patriotic flair to the local landscape, DAR members are decorating lawns with festive American-themed displays as part of a community fundraiser. The program kicked off shortly after Memorial Day and will continue spreading cheer and patriotism through Independence Day.
For a $25 donation, residents can send a surprise display of flags and decorations to a friend, neighbor, family member, or even their own home. Each “Star-Spangled Surprise” includes a vibrant collection of red, white, and blue decorations designed to lift spirits and celebrate American pride.
“This is a fun and meaningful way to honor our country and bring joy to others,” said Chapter Regent Carol Ann Mullins. “We are proud of our community. This display is about community, tradition, and reminding everyone of the freedoms we cherish.”
The DAR’s initiative not only fosters patriotic spirit but also supports the chapter’s educational and historical preservation efforts in the region.
To schedule a surprise or learn more, call or text Wynne Glenn at 334-804-1900 or Carol Ann Mullins at 912-312-6628. Orders with payment may be dropped off at the Bass Agency or sent via Venmo to @Wynne-Glenn.
The DAR mission is to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism. The Old Three Notch Chapter is the sponsor of Andalusia’s annual Fourth of July parade. No fee is required for the parade; just come and be part of this patriotic event.
