An Andalusia woman is charged with chemical endangerment of a child after her newborn tested positive for amphetamines and opioids.
The Andalusia Police Department on Wednesday morning arrested Jennifer Michelle Albro, 38, of Andalusia, and charged her with chemical endangerment of a child. She is being held in the Covington County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
Sgt. Al McGraw said the infant, which is a week old, is still being treated in the Pensacola hospital where it was born.
McGraw expressed his appreciation to the Covington County Department of Human Resources and the U.S. Marshals Service for their assistance with the case.
