Terri Vorster moved to Andalusia in 2021 with her daughter, son, four dogs, and three cats. After the loss of her husband, she found the slower pace of life in Andalusia to be a welcome change.

She soon made Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Gantt her spiritual home and found a sense of community in its congregation.

Terri’s passion lies in helping others and improving lives. She pledges to be upfront and honest with the citizens of Andalusia. Residents can follow and contact her through her Facebook group, “Terri Vorster, District 5 Candidate.”

After hearing concerns from residents about the city’s financial status, Terri, along with Dist. 2 challenger Deana Winkler, visited City Hall. There, they met with the current Dist. 5 councilman and the city clerk to obtain a copy of Andalusia’s 2023-2024 audit and the proposed 2025 budget.

One of Terri’s key priorities is advocating for individuals with physical challenges. She aims to improve the city’s sidewalks and crosswalks to make them more accessible, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

She acknowledges that her opponent may have an advantage when it comes to the city pool issue. However, while she supports the Andalusia Stingrays having a facility they can take pride in, she believes such a significant project should be decided by a citywide vote. If the public supports moving forward, she would advocate for the inclusion of amenities for the elderly and disabled, noting that swimming offers valuable therapeutic benefits.

Win or lose, Terri is committed to making the most of this opportunity. She’s not limiting her outreach to Dist. 5 alone; she welcomes conversations with all Andalusia residents. Known as “the listening candidate,” Terri wants to ensure that Andalusia thrives for generations to come.
