Rotary Club set for 49th annual World Championship Domino Tournament

The Andalusia Rotary Club will host the 49th World Championship Domino Tournament Friday and Saturday, July 11-12.
Domino players from across the United States will gather in Andalusia in an attempt to take the title from seven-time singles champion Jerome Wooten of Kansas City, Missouri, who is the defending singles champion. Phil Baker of Dozier and Michael Haire of Booneville, Mississippi, are the defending doubles champions.
Registration fees are $110 per player for adult singles or doubles. Singles tournaments will begin at 8 a.m. on Friday, July 11, while doubles tournaments will start at 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 12.
This year’s tournament will award over $20,000 in prize money. The first place prize for the adult singles winner will be $5,000. The first place prize for the adult doubles winner will be $2,500 each. The teen singles winner will take home $225, and the teen doubles winner will collect $112.50 each. The child singles winner will receive $100, and the child doubles winner will pocket $50 each.
In addition, the club will host a Fantastic Domino Sweepstakes dinner on Friday night from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. with a $15,000 grand prize drawing beginning at 7 p.m. Sweepstakes tickets, which are $125, give the holder a chance at the prize money and two dinners. Tickets may be purchased from any Rotary member or by calling the Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce. Benji and Amy Mikel, owners of Tabby D’s, will cater this year’s dinner.
Ada Blackstock will serve as the 2025 Miss World Championship Domino Queen for this year’s tournament. Ada will be on hand for drawings and award presentations.
The event will be held at the Kiwanis Community Center at 20096 S. Bypass in Andalusia.
