Ceremony to dedicate Moore highway

Family and friends of Mal Moore will gather Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, for the dedication of the Mal Moore Memorial Highway.

In 2013, the original resolution passed naming a portion of U.S. Highway 29 in Dozier, Ala., where Moore was born and reared, in his memory. During the 2015 Regular Session, a resolution was passed naming U.S. Highway 29 in northern Covington County in his memory, as well as U.S. Highway 29 in Crenshaw County.

Earlier this year, Alabama Department of Transportation officials installed Mal Moore Memorial Highway signs on Alabama Highway 29.

“ALDOT is pleased to join in honoring the life achievements and memory of Mal Moore,” said ALDOT spokesman Tony Harris.

Sunday’s ceremony will be held at Dozier Baptist Church.
