Several LBW Community College employees were recognized by the Alabama Community College Association at a recent conference in Montgomery.

Nominated for the Chancellor’s Award were Denise Sauls for outstanding technical faculty; Krisy White for outstanding academic faculty; Wayne Godwin for outstanding administrator, and Jan Riley for outstanding support staff.

The Chancellor’s Award program is a system-wide means for recognizing individuals who have made exceptional contributions in their respective fields.

“Our college values the commitment and professional standards of excellence demonstrated by our employees,” said LBWCC President Dr. Herb Riedel. “We are proud of the accomplishments of these individuals and pleased for the recognition they richly deserve.”

Sauls serves the college as cosmetology instructor; White is language and fine arts division chair and English instructor; Godwin is director of the college’s EMS program; and Riley is employed as administrative assistant in admissions and records.

In addition to the statewide recognition, the nominees were each awarded a $500 professional development fund by the college.
