OLIVE BAKER

Olive Baker, 89, of Skipperville, passed away on Fri., Sept. 9, 2011, in an Ozark nursing facility.

Funeral services will be held on Wed., Sept. 14, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Skipperville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Freddie McCain officiating. Interment will follow in the Skipperville Community Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.

Miss Baker was born on Dec. 15, 1921, in Skipperville, the youngest of six children born to Christopher C. and Lillie Kansas Loftin Baker. She graduated from the Georgia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1944. She served as an operating room supervisor at an Enterprise hospital for 35 years and retired in 1984.

Survivors include one sister, Virginia Mills of Andalusia; nephews, Ernest Mills (Julianna) of Birmingham, Oliver Morton (Cindy) of Silver Spring, Md., and Larry Baker and Bill Baker of Skipperville; nieces, Jann Nance of Asheville, N.C., Marlo Bixby (Bill) of Skipperville and Nancy Robbins of Andalusia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mabel Baker and Lois Morton, and two brothers, Pearson Baker and Douglas Baker.

Pallbearers will be Larry Baker, Bill Baker, Oliver Mills, Kirk Mills, Billy Polk and Bill Bixby. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Skipperville United Methodist Church, 5189 Hwy. 105, Skipperville, AL 36374.

BERTHA BARNES BOYETTE

Bertha Barnes Boyette, 80, of Andalusia, died Fri., Sept. 9, 2011, in a local nursing facility.

Funeral services were held on Mon., Sept. 12, at Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Barnes and the Rev. Dennis Knowles officiating. Interment followed at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Barnes and Carl Boyette, and a son, Gary Barnes.

She is survived by three sons, William L. Barnes of Andalusia, Roy D. Barnes of the Heath Community and Kent D. (Vickie) Barnes of Loango; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lilly Mae Barnes of Andalusia and Merle Tanner of Opp; brother, Lonnie Scott of Ozark; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Russell Barnes, David Barnes, Luke Barnes, Doug Barnes, Dusty Barnes and Chris Barnes.

Honorary pallbearers were Joshua, William and Bryan Barnes.

LONNIE HENDERSON

Lonnie Henderson passed away Wed., Sept. 7, 2011, in a hospice care facility in Tampa, Fla.

The family will receive friends at Keahey Funeral Home today, Tues., Sept. 13, from 11 a.m. to noon. A private burial will follow in Stone Lake Gardens Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Henderson of Tampa, Fla.; two sons, Derrell Henderson of California and DeWayne Henderson of Mobile; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Yvonne Darnell Dubose, 75, of Andalusia, died Sun., Sept. 11, 2011, at her residence.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., today, Sept. 13, at Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile with Brother John Gibbons officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing.

Calvin Watkins, 42, of the Heath Community, died Sat., Sept. 10, 2011, at his residence.

Kenneth DeWayne, 51, of Luverne, died Sun., Sept. 11, 2011.

Funeral services will be held Wed., Sept. 14, at 11 a.m., from South Luverne Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Green and the Rev. Allen Joyner officiating. Interment will follow in the Sweet Home Baptist Church Cemetery in McKenzie, with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Visitation will be held tonight from 6-8 p.m. at South Luverne Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of almost 30 years, Pamela Campbell Seales; four daughters, Kecia (Stephen) Smith, Casey (Travis) Bush, Kelly Nicole Seales and Karissa Layne Seales; his grandson, Tyler Smith; his parents, Wayne and Patsy Seales; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clayton and Lottie Campbell; two sisters, Kathy Smith and Stephanie (Michael) Harrelson; two brothers, Ricky (Holly) Seales and Shaphan (Tawny) Seales; sister-in-law, Lisa (Robbie) Williams; and brother-in-law, David (Kathy) Campbell.

Ira Richard Dennis, 31, of Andalusia, passed away Thurs., Sept. 8, 2011, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Graveside services will be held 1 p.m., Wed., Sept. 14, at the Nazerene Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing and the Rev. Jay Driver officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Lowery Dennis of Onyca; mother, Mary Weaver of Power Springs, Ga.; two sons, Dillian Dennis and Triston Blain Nicholson of Rome, Ga.; one brother, Raymond Dennis of Andalusia; and one sister, Teresa Emry of Houma, La.

Manuel Brown, 80, of Andalusia, passed away Fri., Sept. 9, 2011, in the Andalusia hospital.
