JAMES DALLION CLARK

James Dallion Clark, 77, of Opp, passed away Thurs., Aug. 23, 2012, in a Dothan hospital.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Keahey Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Williamson of Opp; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews

 

GRACIE KYSER

Gracie Kyser, 92, of Calera, formerly of Opp passed away on Sun., Aug. 19, 2012, at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., today, Sat., Aug. 25, at Old Hickory Grove Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing and the Rev. Robert Canant officiating.

The family will receive friends at Keahey Funeral Home one hour prior to services.

Survivors include 15 grandchildren, Tammy Cox, Virginia Baker, Thomas Worley, Gracie Farley, Marie Kyser, Laventress Estes, Billy Ray Strops, Lisa Norton, Barbara Hughes, Mary Stevens, Teresa Morris, Vicky Finkley, Keith Butler, Jeffery Pate, Beverly Gore and Kay Gore; 37 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Kyser; and her children, Verna Clyde Worley, Jeff Worley, Marry Frances Worley and Voncile Worley.

GRACIE PEARL LEWIS

Gracie Pearl Lewis, 99, of Andalusia, passed away Mon., Aug. 20, 2012, in an Andalusia nursing facility.

Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., today, Sat., Aug. 25, at Union Cemetery in Florala with the Rev. Curtis Manning officiating and Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her grandsons, Ricky (Kim) Lewis of Florala, Mickey (Missy) Lewis of Valley Grand and Christopher (Amber) Lewis of Straughn; great-grandchildren, Ruby (Jamie) Herrod, Christine Lewis, Little Chris Lewis, Elijah Lewis, Anna Bell Lewis and Justin Lewis; great-great grandchild, Clay Herrod; and several loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Erma Lewis, and sons, Buck Lewis and Grady Lewis.

ELOUSIA KELLEY BICANEK

Elouisa Kelley Bicanek of California, formerly of Covington County, passed away on Fri., Aug. 17, 2012.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Mon., Aug. 27, at Pleasant Home Baptist Church with Keahey Funeral Home directing and the Rev. Fred Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Home Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sun., Aug. 26, from 6 p.m. to 8 pm., at Keahey Funeral Home.

Survivors include her son, George John (Teresa) Bicanek II of Lomita, Calif.; daughters, Joan Porter of California, Carol (Bill) Goodwin of Linwood, Kan., Nancy (Manny) Miyar of Miami and Linda (Randy) Bingle of Costa Mesa, Calif.; brothers, the Rev. Fred R. Kelley and George D. (Emma) Kelley, all of Andalusia, and James (Gail) Weaver of Alabama; sisters, Pat (A.G.) Palmore of Andalusia, Joyce White of Montana and Wynelle Bailey of Warner Robbins, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

ELMA MAE (GRAY) GRISSETT

Elma Mae (Gray) Grissett, 81, born in Covington County on July 28, 1931, died Aug. 15, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Oreen Blair, and daughter, Kathy Lynn Gray.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Norris) Gray Hall of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; her son, Roger Glen (Traci) Gray of Noblesville, Ind.; her sister, Thelma Mae Glisson of Andalusia; her grandchildren, Steffanie Keaton, Leslie Wright, Kayleigh Gray and Samuel Gray; great-grandchildren, Mac Taylor Wright and Zoey Blair Wright; and numerous nieces and nephews.

THOMAS CARLTON BLACK

Thomas Carlton Black, 77, of Andalusia, died Wed., Aug. 22, 2012, at his residence.

Funeral services were held on Fri., Aug. 24, at Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Stewart officiating and interment following at Carolina Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Black of Andalusia; daughter and son-in-law, Susan White and Joseph Smith Jr. of Enterprise; three grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Lindsey Smith, both of Birmingham, and Trey Smith of Enterprise; three sisters, Marjean McDonald (John) of Fairhope, Mary Ann Perdew (Jessie) of Enterprise and Sharon Godwin (Roy) of Plantersville; and three brothers, Nick Black (Shirley) of Melino, Fla., Jimmy Black (Linda) of Enterprise and James A. Black of Jacksonville, Fla.

Music was provided by the West Highland Baptist Church Choir.

Pallbearers were Donnie Douglas, Kenny Douglas, Chris Scofield, Tim Black, Scott Marler, Jared Marler, Lee Henderson and Tim Henderson.

CLARENCE GILLIS

GODWIN

Clarence Gillis Godwin, 83, passed away on Fri., Aug. 24, 2012, in Atmore.

He was a native of Monroeville and has resided in Atmore for most of his life. He attended the Zion Hill Baptist Church of Andalusia.

Funeral services will be held on Mon., Aug. 27, at 10 a.m., at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Alvin Brown officiating and burial following at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sun., Aug. 26, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Terry Godwin, Tommy Godwin, David Godwin, and Robbie Johnson

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC of Atmore is in charge of all arrangements.

Survivors include three stepsons, Ed (Darlene) Gibson, Carl (Mary) Kelley, all of Andalusia, and Albert (Nancy) Kelly of Atmore; one stepdaughter, Frances Hildreth (fiancé, James Gray) of Andalusia; one daughter, Doris Godwin of Atmore; 25 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Godwin; mother, Nanney Davis; one sister, Mary Nell Elkins; two brothers, Joe Godwin and Gene Godwin; and two stepsons, Joey Kelley and the Rev. Johnny Johnson.
