As Andalusia fought its way back from a 14-0 deficit to beat Straughn 16-14 last week, the Bulldogs also fought their way onto the Alabama Sports Writers Association’s Class 4A Top 10 poll, which was released today.Cancer

AHS kicked a field goal as time expired in the first half and added two touchdowns in the final 24 minutes, while its defense held the Tigers at bay to win the annual rivalry grudge match and earn the No. 10 spot in its classification.

Before the season began, the Bulldogs were un-ranked.

The Bulldogs are below North Jackson, who lost to Ft. Payne 27-10.

After Class 3A’s Opp beat then top-ranked and defending state Class 2A champion Elba, the Tigers dropped to No. 4.

Andalusia will host Monroe County and Opp travels to play T.R. Miller to start region play.
