Big news is coming to Opp today, officials said.

According to Opp Mayor H.D. Edgar and Covington County Economic Development president Rick Clifton, a major retail announcement will take place at 1 p.m. at the intersection of Hwys. 84 and 331 in Opp.

Neither Edgar nor Clifton were at liberty to say what the retail establishment would be, but Edgar said it was “good news for Opp.”
