WOODY ARMSTRONG

Woody Armstrong, 72, of Andalusia, died Sun., Oct. 28, 2012, at his residence.

Visitation will be tonight from 6-8 at Foreman Funeral Home, and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Survivor include his wife, Connie H. Armstrong of Andalusia; his son and daughter-in-law, David and Julie Richburg of Dallas, Texas; a daughter, Melissa Bryan of Huntsville; his grandchildren, Bryant Bryan, Brittany Bryan, Cessaley Bryan, Courtland Bryan and Alicia Maynor; his adopted children, Lee Maynor of California, Jeff Daniel of Andalusia, Kim Daniel of Mississippi, and Billie Jo Jackson and Scotty Ballard of Andalusia; a special companion, his dog Peanut; and many special friends including, Martha Smith, Beth (Joey) Mackey, Mary Brazzell, Darren Raines, Bo and Candy Henderson, Jody Armstrong, Amanda (Brian and Casey) Bulger, Steve and Mary McGowin, Nick and Terry Ireland, Tina Mitchell, and Charles and LaWanda Henderson and family.

ELINKA BROOMS WARNICKE

Elinka Brooms Warnicke passed away from heart failure on Sat., Oct. 27, at Baptist Hospital South after a lengthy hospital stay.

Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m., Wed., Oct. 31, at the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Brother Billy Boles officiating. Visitation will be at at Foreman Funeral Home beginning at 10 a.m.

She had a wonderful sense of humor and maintained close personal relationships despite dealing with chronic health problems and the deep sadness by the death of her husband. She will be remembered by those who loved her for her with intelligence and grace.

She was a graduate of Andalusia High School and was still in contact with many of her childhood friends including Barbara Hammac Selvey, Nelda Cross Hathcock, Nancy Costen Bozeman, Marcia Mathews Reichert, Joy Hair Tway and Marilyn Henderson O’Neal.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, McDonald “Mack” Brooms, and his wife, Molly; her nephew, Anderson (Becky) Brooms, and his daughters, Madison and Isabelle; her cousin, Glenda Hughes, who was not only a relative but also a dear friend; her stepdaughters, Jill Warnicke and Kim VanderWeele of Michigan and Beverly Mapletoft of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norman Warnicke, and her parents, Bascom and Gladys Brooms.
