Let’s get to work, shall we?

While the season of spring brings new life, it also signifies the start of a rather busy season of sports.Northwest

On Monday, area baseball and softball teams will begin their respective seasons and pretty soon, I’ll be neck-deep in action and smothered in sun screen trying to make my way around to each school in the county.

Andalusia, Straughn and Red Level’s baseball squads start on Feb. 18, and the rest of our local teams will follow later in the week.

Not only will baseball and softball start, golf for Andalusia and Straughn will tee off on Monday as well.

Tennis starts later this month, and outdoor track and field begins on March 1.

Soccer also had its inaugural game on a soggy night Wednesday at Andalusia High School stadium.

To be honest, it’s going to be another packed spring and I can’t wait to get right in the thick of things.

However, as you know, I can’t be everywhere at the same time, so if you snap a picture and want to see it in the newspaper, email it to me at sports@andalusiastarnews.com, with the player’s name and what he/she is doing.

I’ll be sure to get it in the next possible edition of the newspaper.

Thank you in advance for all of your help this season.

Now, let’s get to work.
