SHS archery team wins 1st place

Straughn took home first place from the Covington County Youth Archery Association’s White Oak Tournament on Sunday.

The Tigers finished with a team score of 627 and won $118 in prize money. Pleasant Home finished second with 616; Andalusia finished third with 578; and Red Level finished fourth with 516.

In Division 1, PHS archer Garrett Barton finished first with a team score of 160. Fellow archer Hunter Cheshire came in second with a team score of 150.

Andalusia’s Austin Leverington finished third with a team score of 146.

In Division 2, PHS archer Tyler Myrick finished first with a team score of 140. Ansley Johnson backed Myrick up with a team score of 136 for second place for the Eagles; and Straughn’s Dylan Tyree scored a 133 for third place.

In Division 3, Straughn’s Tucker Livings finished first with a team score of 174. Mason Turner finished second with a team score of 168 for SHS; and Haden Jackson finished third for AHS with a 154.
