AHS, BHS split

Tenth-ranked Andalusia split with Class 1A’s seventh-ranked Brantley in regular season action Tuesday night.

AHS fell 4-1 in game one, but came back to win the night cap, 4-3.

Andalusia moves to 19-8-1 on the season, and will host Wilcox Central for one area game Friday night.

“Brantley played really well,” AHS coach Jonathan Rasberry said. “They’re obviously playing well right now.”

Grayson Campbell and Quinton Maddox went 2-for-3 each to lead AHS. Hunter Earnest went 1-for-2, and Justin Scherzinger went 1-for-3.

Campbell earned the loss on the mound.

Maddox pitched 5.2 innings to get the win for AHS. Daniel Henderson got the save.

Brandon Smith went 2-for-3 with an RBI; Zach Ward went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run; Jud Rogers went 1-for-2; Will Harrison went 1-for-3; and Payton Maddox went 1-for-2.
