Andalusia’s soccer team has been winning on heart, passion, determination and tenacity this season.

The Bulldogs didn’t have those four things Tuesday night, falling 4-2 to Mary Montgomery in Mobile.

“We played very flat,” AHS coach Tim Ramsden said. “We did a lot of ball watching tonight, and if you do that, then you’ll lose.”

With this loss, Andalusia falls to 9-1 on the season.

Ramsden said his Bulldogs had a tough time “winning” balls, something they’ve been doing quite well this year.

“We were physical, but not physical in the right way,” he said.

Andalusia’s Trey Ossenfort scored the Bulldogs only team goal from an assist by Hiten Patel. The other Bulldogs’ goal came from an own goal from Mary Montgomery.

Mary Montgomery scored on a penalty kick and two shots. The other goal came on an own goal from Andalusia.

Ramsden said Tony Bulger played well defensively for the Bulldogs on Tuesday.

Andalusia will travel to play Charles Henderson in Class 1A-4A, Area 2 action on Friday night.

The Bulldogs need to win these next two area games to win the area title.
