JAMES FREDERICK ‘FRED’ MIKEL

James Frederick “Fred” Mikel, 87, of Andalusia passed away Thurs., April 25, 2013, in the Andalusia hospital.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., today, Tues., April 30, at the Cold Water Congregational Church. Burial will follow in the Ables Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to services at the church.

Survivors include his daughters, Tammy (Bob) Hammett of Dozier and Carol (Paul) Trotter of Texas; brother, Joe (Evelyn) Mikel of Opp; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jaci Mikel, and son, Charles Mikel.

WILLIAM T. BISHOP

William T. Bishop, 63, of Red Level, passed away Mon., April 29, 2013, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wed., May 1, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with visitation at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Chris Eddy of Niceville, Fla.; his brothers and sisters, Trudy (Edmond) Wirchball of Union, S.C., Jim Bishop of Red Level, Samuel Bishop of Spartenburg, S.C., Karen (John) Lawson of Lyman, S.C., Sharon (Wes) Codwell of Ohio, Terry (Lisa) Bishop of Greer, S.C., and Susan (Paul) Rhyne of Spartanburg, S.C.; two grandchildren, Sarah Eddy and Gracen Eddy; 17 nieces and nephews; and 32 great-nieces and great-nephews.

REX ARNOLD POWELL

Rex Arnold Powell, 82, of Andalusia, passed away Sat., April 27, 2013, at his residence.

Graveside services were held on Mon., April 29, at Macedonia Cemetery in Rose Hill with the Rev. Jimmy Aaron officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Nell Powell of Andalusia; his son and daughter-in-law, Reggy and Cynthia Powell of Andalusia; his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Frankie McVay of Andalusia; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Lib and Cyril Maynard of Tallahassee, Fla., and Loretta and Roger Beckstrom of LaCross, Wis.; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde and Fern Powell Jr. of Dothan, Maurice and Barbara Ann Powell of Montgomery, and Larry and Sarah Powell of Pensacola, Fla.

Pallbearers will be John Clark III, Lowe Dillard, Chad Day, David McVay, Clay Powell and Lee Cagle.

Honorary pallbearers will be Virgil Davis and Sam Lewis.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial may be made to the Salvation Army or the Gideon’s.
