An Andalusia man was arrested for not only allegedly selling crack to an undercover informant in January, but also for fleeing from the Covington County Courthouse Tuesday.

Emmett Cigers, 36, is facing two counts of distribution of a controlled substance. The charges stem from two documented incidents in January, said Andalusia Police Officer and investigator Roger Cender.

“Mr. Cigers also attempted to flee from his probation officer; however, he only made it to just outside the courthouse before being apprehended by his probation officer,” Cender said.

In addition to the distribution charges, Cigers is charged with violation of probation charge. He was booked into the Covington County Jail and is being held without bond.
