JIMMIE WHITE

Brother Jimmie White was born May 26, 1946, to the parentage of the late Shelly White and the late Odessa Bryant White in Searight, Ala.

He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Jordan Grove Baptist Church in Searight. While in school, he moved to Washington, D.C., and attended McKinley High School. He also attended Washington High School ROTC program and upon graduating in 1963, served honorably in the United States Air Force. Upon returning to Washington, he attended Strayer College and received a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He later obtained his real estate license and was a licensed locksmith.

He enjoyed various employments during his lifetime – real estate agent for Century 21, a licensed cab driver for the City of Washington for 35 years, and as a supervisor of carpenters for the United States Civil Service, from which he retired after 15 years of employment due to failing health.

He was a member and Past Master of Meridian Lodge #6, Washington, D.C.; a member of Buna Mae Chapter #342 OES in Searight, a member of Jackson Masonic Lodge #139, and was a Shriner.

Upon relocating to Alabama, Bro. White re-united with Jordan Grove Baptist Church of Searight. Later in life and upon moving to Jackson, he united with Saint Union Missionary Baptist Church where he was an instructor in the Baptist Training Union, was appointed a trustee, served in the missionary society (counselor for the Crusaders), and was instrumental in the Free Mission District Association youth department.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Charlie L. White, Clarence White, Imogean White McCraken and Lorean White.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Anna Marie Jackson White of Jackson; his daughter, Sandra Lott of Palmdale, Calif.; his sons, Dwayne (Tasha) White of Waldorf, Md., and Marlon (Michelle) Malone of Laurel, Md.; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one brother, Arthur (Clara) White of Washington, D.C.; one sister, Airlean White Nelson of Las Vegas; two aunts, Maggie Bryant of Dozier and Floy Marie Bryant of Middleton, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Pat White; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held today, Fri., May 17, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Andrews Funeral Home in Jackson. Jackson Masonic Lodge No. 139 will perform their ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Viewing will also be held on Sat., May 18, at noon until the funeral hour of 1 p.m. at Jordan Grove Baptist Church in Searight with the Rev. Larry Burnett and the Rev. James M. Howard Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Lowman Cemetery in Searight. The funeral cortege will leave Andrews Funeral Home Saturday at 8 a.m.
