County BOE approves personnel

It was a topsy turvy kind of day at the Covington County Board of Education special-called meeting Wednesday.

The personnel report was full of transfers, at teachers’ requests.

The board approved the following changes:

• accepted the resignation of William Russell Combs at the central office, effective June 30;

• accepted the resignation of Carri Lynn Day as math teacher at Florala High School, effective at the end of the 2012-2013 school year;

• accepted the resignation of Janna Morrow Clark as family and consumer science teacher at Florala High School effective at the end of the 2012-2013 school year;

• transferred of Jessica Rambo Meadows from elementary teacher at Pleasant Home School to elementary teacher at Straughn Elementary School, at her request;

• approved to transfer Kristin G. Powell from remediation teacher at Pleasant Home School to sixth grade teacher at Pleasant Home School, at her request;

• transferred of Natalie Camille Broussard from kindergarten teacher at Pleasant Home School to second grade at Pleasant Home School, at her request;

• transferred of Lucretica Hawking from sixth grade teacher at PHS to second grade teacher at PHS, at her request;

• employed Loran Rabren Rigdon as elementary teacher at Red Level Elementary School;

• employed Jamie Carroll Snider as elementary School teacher at RLES;

• transferred Stephanie Sowell Taunton from reading coach at RLES to elementary school teacher at RLES, at her request;

• transferred Leah Wilks Grimes from fourth grade teacher at RLES to reading coach at RLES, at her request;

• transferred Carmen W. Powell from collaborative special education K-6 teacher at RLES to fourth grade teacher at RLES, at her request;

• transferred Sara S. Robinson from third grade teacher at RLES to second grade teacher at RLES, at her request;

• accepted the resignation of John Christian Conway, as English language arts teacher at RLES;

• transferred Endsley Givhan Bolen from special education teacher at SES to special education teacher at RLES;

• employed Christy G. Rodgers as bookkeeper at SES, effective July 1;

• employed Dana McMath as elementary school teacher at SES;

• employed Patricia Ann Oates as reading coach at SES;

• accepted the resignation of Deborah Hamilton Long as reading and general social science teacher at Straughn Middle School;

• transferred Abbie Lesa Caffy from special education teacher at WS Harlan Elementary School to third grade teacher at WSH, at her request;

• transferred Kathii Eleanor Lovelady from kindergarten teacher at WSH to first grade teacher at WSH, at her request; and

• transferred Alicia Denise Moore from first grade teacher at WSH to fifth grade teacher at WSH, at her request.
