Gary Edward Cannon, 61, of Andalusia, passed away on Sun., July 7, 2013, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wed., July 10, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Cannant officiating and interment following in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include his sisters, Fae Meeks, Diane Black and Stephanie Theus.

ASA JOHN PATRICK

Asa John Patrick, t he infant son of Wilson and Sara Catherine Patrick, passed away on July 3, 2013, at UAB hospital.

He is survived by his parents, Wilson and Sara Catherine Patrick; maternal grandparents, Lex and Susan Short; maternal great-grandparents, Ed and Gloria Short and Fletcher and Jean Jones, all of Andalusia, paternal grandparents, Leah Patrick and Chris (Brandy) Patrick; and paternal great-grandparents, Frank (Angie) Patrick and Barbara Funderburk, all of Mobile.

Private funeral arrangements were held in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery on Sat., July 6.

NORMA MULKEY MCLELLAND

Norma Mulkey McLelland, 83, of Andalusia, passed away on Sun., July 7, 2013, in a Mobile hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tues., July 9, at Bethany Baptist Church with the Rev. Josh Wilson and the Rev. Denny Couturie officiating and interment following in Old Bethesda Cemetery in Loango.

Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.

She is survived by her husband, Robert McLelland of Andalusia; her daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and Jim Franklin of Andalusia, Christy and Bruce Hutcheson of Evergreen; her sons and daughters-in-law, John B. and Teresa McLelland of Monroeville and Frank and Linda McLelland of Navarre, Fla.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Ruth McKenna of St. Augustine, Fla.

Pallbearers will be George Gantt, Todd Sasser, Terry Turner, Bill Shaw, Claude Summerlin and Herman Castleberry.

The family requests no flowers; however, memorials may be made to Crossover Ministries, 508 Hwy 52 East, Opp, AL 36467.

THE REV. ALVIN PRENTIS RATCLIFF

Reverend Alvin Prentis Ratcliff, 78, of Red Level, passed away on Sat., July 6, 2013, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wed., July 10, at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Sutton, the Rev. V.J. Godwin and the Rev. Anna Weaver officiating and interment in Fairmont Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Foreman Funeral Home tonight from 6-8.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Ward Ratcliff of Red Level; eight children; one stepson, Ricky Dewayne Ward of Red Level; two stepdaughters, Lynda (Robert) Davis and Ann (Eddy) Walker, both of Red Level; sister, JoAnn (P.R.) Page of Ft. Worth, Texas; four grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and one step-great-granddaughter.

MARGARET STRAUGHN CARR

Margaret Straughn Carr, 86, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2013, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie Ga., with family by her side.

She was born on Feb. 28, 1927, in Akron, Ohio, to Leo Roland Straughn and Lois Floyd Straughn.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Straughn Tillman, and brother, George (Gene) A. Straughn.

She is survived by her brother, John (Shep) Straughn of Cheraw, S.C.; her son, Mark C. (Paula) Carr of Vinton, Va.; her daughter, Patricia C. Tims of Albany, Ga.; her grandchildren, Shaundra C. (Shane) Bowles of Johnson City, Tenn., Mikel (Pamela) Carr of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Daniel E. (Peggy) Tims of Fairhope, Kris Greene, Jason Greene and Josh (Megghan) Lawhorne; her great-grandchildren, Beverly, Tiffani, Corey, Brandi, Baley, Skyler, Aiden, Chloe and Audrey; her great-great-grand child, Bradley Lucas Gwin; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was an active member of Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed volunteering at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Ga. Earlier in life, she served as a Cub Scout den mom and Brownie troop leader. She also received many awards and accomplishments throughout her career at McLellan AFB in Sacramento, Calif., where she retired. She later resided in Albany, Ga., with her daughter.

Funeral services will be held on Fri., July 12, at 10 a.m., at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday at 5 p.m.

Melissa Danielle Gantt Mitchell, 29, of Opp, died Wed., July 3, 2013, at her residence.

Funeral services were held on Sat., July 6, at Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home with Minister Trey Poole officiating. Interment followed at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Shaun Mitchell of Opp; two daughters, Katelyn Danielle Mitchell and Miley Elizabeth Mitchell; father and stepmother, Philip and Tina Gantt of Andalusia; mother, Jerri Dauphin of Andalusia; sister, Chandlar Dauphin; stepsister, Lori Grimes Odom; stepbrother, Allen (Sonji) Grimes, all of Andalusia; maternal grandmother, Paula Tillman; in-laws, Micky and Dee Mitchell of Opp; grandparents-in-law, Lloyd Gene Carter of Andalusia and James and Evelyn Mitchell of Opp; great-grandparent-in-law, Lille V. Carter of Babbie; brothers and sister-in-law, Michael and Tamara Bush of Opp and Derek Mitchell of Opp.

Pallbearers were Garrett Cross, Parker Malone, Justin Gantt, Allen Grimes, Seth Stewart and Dustin Dyess.
