An Andalusia man is in custody after he not only allegedly stole two guns valued at nearly $3,000, but also pawned them for $500.

Sgt. Jody Scott with the Andalusia Police Department said Tuesday that Scotty Devon Miller, 33, is facing one count of theft of lost property I and one count of receiving stolen property I.

“Our investigation determined that (Miller) had sold two guns that had been stolen from a residence in the Green Acres neighborhood of Andalusia,” Scott said. “The guns, which are valued at more than $2,800, were sold at the Enterprise Express Pawn for $500.”

Miller, who was arrested Monday afternoon, is currently being held in the Covington County Jail under a $40,000 bond.

Scott said the APD was assisted by the Opp Police Department in the case.
