Andalusia was the only local football team to move a spot in the final Alabama Sports Writers Association poll.

The Bulldogs defeated Escambia County 48-32 last week to improve to 8-1 on the season and jumped to the No. 9 spot in Class 4A.

Straughn defeated Opp 49-21 to clinch the No. 2 seed out of Class 3A, Region 1, and stays at No. 10 in the final poll.

AHS will host Childersburg, and Straughn hosts Northside in the first round of the state playoffs, which begin Nov. 8.
