Dale Pancake, pictured above with his family, was the recipient of the Andalusia Kiwanis Club’s 2013 Citizen of the Year Award. Pancake was recognized Monday night at the Annual Kiwanis Appreciation Banquet for his extensive service to the military, Peace Corp, mission work in other countries as well as local forestry and fire fighting. His most notorious service work as of late has been with the Covington County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity, which he organized in  and currently serves as president. Pancake is employed by Auburn University as the Assistant Director of the Solon Dixon Forestry Education Center.
