KENNETH WILBORNE COTTON

Kenneth Wilborne Cotton, 82, of Andalusia, passed away on Fri., Jan. 17, 2014, at his residence.

He was a devoted, loving husband, father and grandfather.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m., Sun., Jan. 19, at Carolina Baptist Church with Keith Tankersly officiating, and burial following at Cotton Cemetery in Escambia Farms, Fla.

Visitation will be at the church, one hour prior to the service.

He was born on Nov. 7, 1931, in Wing, to Eyra and Catherine Cotton. On Aug. 30, 1950, he married the love of his life, Myrtis Kathryne Buffalow. They enjoyed their life together farming and raising horses.

In 63 years of marriage, their life together was a true testimony of what God intended when He created marriage – true love, commitment and honor in sickness and in health, for better or worse. We are blessed to be a part of the legacy they have left – not of earthly wealth and material possessions but of eternal wealth; not the stuff that moths and rust destroy, but instead the treasures that will never fade away…love for others, family, integrity, and most of all, their love for Jesus Christ, their savior.

He is survived by wife, Myrtis Kathryne Cotton; a daughter, Catherine Elizabeth (Ricky) Jacobs; a son, Kenneth W. (Lisa) Cotton Jr., all of Wing; seven grandchildren, Brian (Dawn) Jacobs, Beth (John) Colvin, Amy (Heath) Rolling, Kimberly Jacobs, Dallas Cotton, Levi (Kayla) Cotton and Hannah Cotton; six great-grandchildren, John Luke Colvin, Allie Beth Colvin, Lane Rolling, Kailey Cotton, Mia Cotton and Grace Cotton; and one brother, Donald Cotton.

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven…For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:19-21
