Despite a sign on the Andalusia Family Dollar’s building that says “closing,” corporate officials are mum on whether the store is closing or not.

The retailer announced last month it would close 370 stores in the next six months.

Family Dollar reported poor second quarter results.

Public and Media Relations Manager Bryn Winburn told the Star-News Friday that the company is taking decisive action to better position the company to succeed in an adverse environment.

“The company recently conducted a comprehensive review to identify measures to provide customers with more value, increase operational efficiency and improve financial performance.”

Winburn said the company is working to finalize the store closure plan and will disclose information on impacted locations at the appropriate time.
