J.C. BUDDY HARRIS

J.C. Buddy Harris, 85, of Andalusia, died Mon., May 12, 2014, at his residence.

He was a member of Rawls Baptist Church and former owner of Andalusia Body Shop. He was one of the founding members of the Andalusia Rescue Squad. Following his retirement, he enjoyed cattle farming and building wooden toys for children of all ages.

Funeral services will be held Wed., May 14 at 2 p.m. from the Foreman Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Wayne Sharpe will officiate. Interment will be in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at 5:30 p.m. today, Tues., May 13, at Foreman Funeral Home.

Harris is survived by his wife, Kathleen Harris of Andalusia; his daughters, Susan (Tony) Cole of Santa Rosa, Calif., Phyllis (Don) Moore of Iowa; his son, James Russell Harris of Reno, Nev.; a stepdaughter, Debra L. Cartwright of Pensacola, Fla.; two stepsons, John Michael Hughes of Canyon City, Colo. and Victor Clark Huges of Walterboro, S.C.; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tim Bracewell, Tommy Reeves, Ralph Simpler, Wayne Aughtman, Earl Prather and Ray Johnson.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Rawls Baptist Church Building Fund.

VIRGINIA COLVIN HIXON

Virginia Colvin Hixon, 84, of Red Level, passed away on Sun., May 11, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Wed., May 14, at 11 a.m. from Foreman Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Billy Boles officiating. Interment will follow in the Pigeon Creek Cemetery.

Hixon is survived by two sons, Jerry (Vicki) Colvin from Gantt and David (Kristi) Colvin from Ozark; four grandchildren, Caela, Zachary, Hannah and Silas Colvin; one great-grandchild, Sailor Vay Colvin; three brothers, George Morris of Florida, Jim (Evonne) Morris of Texas and Bobby (Lynette) Morris of Opp; two sisters, Martha (Joe Neal) Jenkins of Dothan and Evon (Don) Dekalb of Georgia; and two step-daughters, Kim (Jerry) Howell and Marianne (Jim) Phillips.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Emmett Colvin and Anford Hixon.

Visitation will be Wed., May 14, from 9 until 10:45 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home.
