Covenant Hospice seeking military veterans

Covenant Hospice is seeking military veterans who will help the organization honor veterans. Covenant’s patients who are veterans are honored soon after they are admitted for care, year-round. During Veteran’s Day week in November, Covenant also honors nursing home residents who are veterans.

Covenant invites veterans in the local community to join them and visit veterans who are elderly, chronically or terminally ill. Veteran volunteers present them with a certificate and pin in recognition of their service. Covenant will provide the information and materials needed and will support veteran volunteers in their work.

Covenant Hospice is a partner with We Honor Veterans, a national initiative of the Veterans Administration and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. The goal of this program is to provide quality end-of-life care for veterans and to honor them for their service. For some of these veterans it may be the first time that someone has welcomed them home.
