Opp Police are searching for an armed gunman who held up the Tom Thumb on Cummings Avenue Tuesday morning.

Around 4 a.m., a medium-build, black man entered the location wearing a blue shirt with white writing, grey shorts, crochet hat and a blue or black bandanna covering his face, according to OPD Assistant Chief Kevin Chance.

The subject brandished a semi-automatic handgun demanding money out of the cash register from the store clerk.

Upon exiting, the man headed in the direction of Virginia Avenue on foot with a small amount of cash.
