The Florala Wildcats will make a trip Friday night to Kinston to take on the Bulldogs in a class 1A region 2 match-up with huge playoff implications for both teams.

Both teams are currently 5-3 overall, and 2-3 in region play. The winner will move on to round one of the 1A playoffs and the loser will be left at home.

“This is what high school football is all about,” said Florala head football coach Brad Rhodes. “With these teams being such a short distance from each other and with a game with playoff implications like this, it makes for a exciting game.”

Rhodes said that the Kinston offense likes to use a lot of motion and different formations to try and establish the run.

“Kinston has a really good running back who has been really good for them all year and a quaterback who can also hurt you, so we have stressed all week how important it is for us to be focused on defense and wrap up on tackles,” Rhodes said.

Rhodes said he believes the two teams match up really well against each other, and that it should be an exciting game.

Offensively, Rhodes said he expects his team to continue on building what they have been doing all season, and play penalty and turnover free.

Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. Friday in Kinston.
