Mr. Dalma “Danny” Blain, 54, passed away Mon., Nov. 24, 2014.

He was born May 28, 1960, in Fukuoka, Japan, on the Itazuke Airbase to Edward and Martha Smith Blain.

Mr. Blain was a resident of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., and Andalusia. He was Baptist by faith and a member of Salem Baptist Church in Andalusia.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country for more than 20 years before retiring as a major.

He worked as a schoolteacher for more than 20 years. He also coached football and soccer at South Walton High School, Niceville High School and Choctaw High School, as well as Andrew College in Georgia. He dearly loved coaching and inspiring children to do their very best.

The greatest joy of his life was his family.

Mr. Blain is preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Blain is survived by his loving wife Kim Blain of DeFuniak Springs; three daughters, Amanda Al-Rashid and husband Mohamed of Austin, Texas, Emily Rathel and Alison Blain, both of DeFuniak Springs; two brothers, Gerald Blain and wife, Kris and Ernest Blain, all of Valparaiso, Fla.; one sister, Terry Lee Weaver and husband Robert of Texas; three grandchildren, Alise, Alora and Aiden; numerous nieces and nephews; and one brother-in-law, Greg Hall.

Visitation services will be held 6 to 8 p.m., Fri., Nov. 28, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, FL., 32435.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Sat., Nov. 29, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery; 316 NW Beal Parkway, FWB, FL., 32548, with military honors.

Floral arrangements are being accepted.

RUBY G. HAWKINS

Mrs. Ruby G. Hawkins, 89, of Dozier passed away Wed., Nov. 26, 2014, in the Andalusia hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday at the Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one-hour prior to services. The Rev. Wesley Jeffcoat and the Rev. Harold Smith will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Emmaus Cemetery in Luverne with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Adams of Dozier; sister, Annie Mitchell or Opp; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Hawkins of Andalusia; Marth Hawkins of Dozier; 19 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. “Red” Hawkins; sons, Jerry Hawkins, Jimmy Hawkins and Larry Hawkins; grandson, Ashley Hawkins; and son-in-law, Ronnie Adams.

Searving as pallbearers will be Jamie Hawkins, Jeff Hawkins, Jason Hawkins, Jerome Hawkins, Michael Adams and Adam Rogers.
