The Florala Lady Wildcats beat down the Baker Lady Gators 58-34 Saturday in the Alabama/Florida Shootout in Pleasant Home.

 

The Lady Wildcats opened up the game with a 12-9 advantage, and they never took their foot off the gas. Shay Brooks had 5 points from a layup and a 3-pointer in the first period. Morgan Jackson went 4-for-6 from the free-throw line.

 

Brooks kicked it into high gear in the second period with 13 points. She outscored the entire Lady Gators’ team 13-8 in the period. At halftime, the Lady Wildcats were up 31-17.

 

The Lady Wildcats continued to play with intensity on both ends of the court in the third. They weren’t letting the Lady Gators have any chance at shooting open shots. The Lady Wildcats went up 42-22 heading into the final period. J. Griffin led the Lady Wildcats with 4 points in the third.

 

In the fourth period, Brooks again asserted her dominance on the Lady Gators with 8 points in the final period to close the door on the Lady Gators. Brooks was having one of those nights were everything she shot found its mark. The Lady Wildcats cruised to a 58-34 victory over the Lady Gators.

 

Brooks led all scorers with 29 points, and Jackson finished with 12 points. Jackson was impressive from the free-throw line going 8-for-11 in the contest.

 

The Lady Wildcats open up area play tonight as they travel to Brantley to face the Lady Bulldogs.
