Lady Tigers assert dominance over Lady Bobcats

The fifth-ranked Straughn Lady Tigers continued their dominance over other teams in the county with a 53-14 victory over the Opp Lady Bobcats Saturday night in Opp.

 

The Lady Tigers came blazing out of the gate, and led the Lady Bobcats 15-1 after the first period. Harley Adcock got the Lady Tigers off to a hot start with 5 points in the first period. Jacie Williamson added 4 points for the Lady Tigers. Anna Davis had the Lady Bobcats lone point in the first period.

 

The Lady Tigers kept their foot on the gas in the second period, and by halftime the Lady Tigers held a commanding 35-8 lead. Anna Harrelson and seventh-grader Frankie Vickery had 3 points each for the Lady Bobcats. Katelyn Kinsaul led the Lady Tigers with 6 points, and Brentley Armstrong had 4 points in the second.

 

In the third period, the Lady Tigers kept piling up the points, and led 49-13 heading in to the final period. Davis and Vickery had 2 points each for the Lady Bobcats. Williamson paced the Lady Tigers with 4 points.

 

The Lady Tigers eased off of the Lady Bobcats in the final period, and coasted to a 53-14 win over the Lady Bobcats. Vickery had the only point for the Lady Bobcats in the fourth period. Lexie Cottle put in 2 points for the Lady Tigers to help wrap up the victory.

 

Vickery led the Lady Bobcats with 7 points.

 

Kinsaul and Williamson led the Lady Tigers with 10 points.
