An elderly Elba man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday on the Opp Bypass.

According to Opp Police, the department and fire units responded to a two-car crash at the intersection of Alabama Hwy. 299 and Ellis Road.

Reports indicate that the 83-year-old male, who has not been identified, was northbound on Hwy. 299 and attempted to cross the southbound lanes of Hwy. 299 to Ellis Road.

His vehicle was struck by a vehicle that was traveling southbound on Hwy. 299.

It was driven by a 23-year-old female from Birmingham.

Both drivers were taken to Mizell Memorial Hospital.

The collision is under investigation by the OPD.
